Connect a broker

Magic Position reads your positions and applies your rules through an
account at your broker or trading platform. This page covers how to
add an account, which platforms are supported, and the limits to
keep in mind.

Supported platforms

The app recognises the following platforms:

  • MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 — direct login with your
    credentials;
  • cTrader — OAuth-based login;
  • TradeLocker, MatchTrader — CFD and Forex brokers;
  • TradeStation, Tradovate, Rithmic, CQG — futures
    platforms;
  • Binance and other centralised crypto exchanges (API key
    login);
  • Simulated platform — risk-free demo account, useful to try the
    app before connecting a real one.

Step 1 — Open the add-account assistant

From the Accounts page, open
Add an account. The page lists
every supported platform.

Step 2 — Pick a platform

Click the card matching your broker. A platform-specific
authentication dialog opens:

  • for MetaTrader 4 / 5: account credentials and broker server;
  • for cTrader: OAuth redirection to your broker;
  • for TradeLocker, MatchTrader, TradeStation, Tradovate,
    Rithmic, CQG: broker-specific information;
  • for Binance or another crypto exchange: API keys (read-only
    recommended);
  • for the Simulated platform: no authentication, the account is
    created immediately.

Step 3 — Verify the connected account

Once connected, the account appears on the
Accounts page under Enabled.
Click it to open the details (balance, equity, unrealised P/L, margin,
leverage).

Limits and constraints

  • 10 accounts maximum per user. To add more, remove an existing
    account first.
  • One MetaTrader account at a time: if you delete your MetaTrader
    account, a 30-day waiting period applies before you can create a new
    one.
  • Adding a MetaTrader account requires an active subscription.

What's next?

  • Define the risk rules applied to the account — see
    Getting started.
  • Connect a second account if you trade on multiple platforms.
